Christmas

Last Christmas day on 2017 I remember that mostly every house was
shining with Christmas lights it was like a colourful stars that are but
out of the it brightened everything up.

When I was in my house I saw my Christmas tree decorated with lights,
tinsel, red, silver, and gold decorations the star was up on the tipy top
of the tree. The star was almost touching the ceiling. The colours were
flashing! There were led colour-changing fairy lights hung everywhere.
When we turned them on, the whole room lightened up with colours
of green red yellow and blue, it was dazzling! It was something I
couldn’t get my eye off. The colours reminded me of northern stars
but much colourful.

When my dad got the lamb leg out of the oven it smells delicious so
i quickly got on the table to eat i couldn’t even wait one minute. I could
even see my dads gravy in a bowl beside the lamb leg.

My Special Stone

My Special Green Stone

This summer I went to the South Island and that was where I got my most treasured possession but it did
take a few days to get it because me and my mum travelled to lots of places before we got to the stunning
Glenorchy.

When we got there we went jet boating on the crystal clear river called Dart River, a very light blue river
which is very clear. After the ride we stopped at an cramped island and the driver got of and gave every
family 5 pieces of green stone but there was only one piece that caught my eye.

That piece was radiant shining in my hand. The piece I was holding is special to me because it was lighter
than all the other pieces of green stone and it’s is an unique colour green with tiny black spots.

In the end it was time to go home and I had an incredible time at the South Island  but my holiday had to
end.

The Awesome Blossom Possum Trap

The materials we used were three yogurt containers some string duct tape toilet paper roll hot glue magnets and a circle of cardboard.

We made the trap by hot gluing and cutting the two containers then we stuck together. We added the toilet paper roll at the bottom so it will be able to rock up and down. We taped the door on and stuck the magnets on on the container.

We had three problems when we were sticking the magnets and it was always coming sticking the toilet paper roll on the container and cutting the bottom of the the two containers. Next time we should use double sided tape to tape on the magnets.

Penguins

Penguin
A cold desert is Antarctica is the coldest place in the world and it is the world's biggest cold desert. Adaptation mean to get use to something like the penguin and polar bear live in Antarctica. The penguin even the polar bear has to get use to the cold.

Antarctica is cold place but there are still animals that adapted to that habitat. Antarctica is plain white with trees but most of the time there are no leaves on the trees.

Penguins huddle together to keep warm. The colour of a penguin is black and white but the baby penguin is grey and the head is white and black. The penguin Penguins are flightless birds.
While other birds have wings for flying, penguins have adapted flippers to help them swim in the water.
Most penguins live in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Galapagos Penguin is the only penguin specie that ventures north of the equator in the wild. hands look like flippers  that's why they are excellent swimmers.
hands look like flippers  that's why they are excellent swimmers.

In conclusion, the penguin adapted by thick fur and under the fur there is a thick layer of blubber that keeps them warm. They are really good swimmers. They are flightless birds.
